2023 上高地紅葉情報②

９月に入り、上高地の短い夏が終わろうとしています。
既に上高地では朝晩の冷え込みが厳しくなって参りました。

夏が終わってしまうのは寂しいですが…
秋には「カラマツ」が黄色く色づく『黄葉』が見頃を迎えます。
黄金に輝くカラマツが山々や梓川沿いに並び立つ姿は、何度見ても圧巻されます。

黄葉はもう少し先になりそうですが、上高地内の様々なところに秋の足音を感じます。

 

肝木（カンボク）

初夏には紫陽花に似た白く美しい花を咲かせるカンボクですが、秋の訪れを知らせる様に赤い実をつけます。
赤く美味しそうな見た目から鳥たちのおやつに人気そうですが、じつは味はいまいちのようで実をたくさんつけたまま冬を迎えます。

 

もう少し経つと、鳥たちに大人気な小梨の木にも可愛らしい赤い実がつき始めます。

このような小さなところから秋が始まっています。

【2023 Kamikochi Autumn Leaves Information (2) 】

The short summer in Kamikochi is coming to an end in September, and it is getting chilly in the morning and evening.

In autumn, the yellow leaves of the larch trees will be at their best.
The golden larches lining the mountains and along the Azusa River are overwhelming no matter how many times you see them.

The yellow leaves will be a little ways away, but you can feel the footsteps of autumn in various places in Kamikochi.

 

Kanboku (Guelder rose)

In early summer, Kanboku produces beautiful white flowers resembling hydrangeas, and it bears red berries to signal the arrival of autumn.
It seems to be popular as a snack for the birds because of its red and delicious appearance, but in fact, it doesn’t taste good and goes into winter with a lot of berries.

After a little while, the Toringo crabapple trees, which are very popular with the birds, will start to have cute red fruits.

The yellow leaves in full bloom are very attractive in Kamikochi, but September, when you can spot the arrival of little autumn, is also a time for staff recommendations!
