9月も終わりに近づき上高地は一気に秋めいてきました。今朝(9月25日)の気温はついに10℃を切りました。

お天気が良いと放射冷却により朝はぐっと冷え込みます。

日中は20℃近くまで気温が上がり過ごしやすくなりますが、寒暖差が激しいので散策には薄手の長袖や着脱しやすい恰好がおすすめです！

 

小梨(コナシ)

秋の上高地は赤い実をつける樹木をいくつか目にしますが、その一つをご紹介します。

「ズミ(酸実)」「エゾノコリンゴ(蝦夷の小林檎)」は上高地では小梨と呼ばれています。

このように6月頃には白く大きな花を咲かせる小梨は、秋には小さな赤い実をつけます。

霜が降りることによって甘くなり、野鳥やサルたちが集います。

9月の中旬頃撮影した小梨です。写真はまだ若干緑色ですが、岳沢湿原の辺りでは既に赤くなった小梨が見られるそうです！

ホテルの近くにも小梨の木が植わっています。赤くみられるのは10月上旬になりそうです。

As September comes to an end, the Kamikochi areas has quickly embraced autumn.

Today(September 25th),the temperature has finally dropped below 10℃. When the weather is good, the mornings are quite chilly due to radiative cooling.

During the day, the temperature rises to around 20℃, making it comfortable, but because of the significant temperature difference, It’s advisable to wear lightweight long sleeves or clothing that’s easy to put on and take off for your walks!

 

Konashi(Malus sieboldii Rehber)

In June, the “Konashi” tree blooms with large white flowers. During this season, it bears small red fruits that attract monkeys and birds to feed on.

There is also a Konashi tree in front of our hotel. It looks like the fruits will turn red in early October.
